A Little Inspiration [Friday + Easter Break + Quotes] {instafriday}

Me wearing my lovely butterfly ring after getting
a French Manicure (I did it myself :) )

So today was the last day of school before a much needed Easter break!!! I can't wait to relax and sleep in! I thought I would share a few instagram photos from the past days (follow me please: thegentleflower)

Yesterday I had a Spanish mock exam. It was really difficult, but I got through it :)
We could choose a task where we had to write an essay based on this quote:

I seriously love the quote, especially since I travel and have moved a lot. I didn't choose this task, but I love the quote.
If you don't understand Spanish, it translates: "He who is used to traveling, always knows that he must leave one day."

On Sunday I got the GREAT NEWS that I've been selected as one of the FINALISTS in the Norwegian Handmade competition, Håndlaga 2012. You can read more about that here.

The picture above is a picture of the A Ray of Sunshine - Ivory Coloured Ring with Sun Rays, which is the ring that's been nominated in the Jewelry Category in the contest. If you like it, will you please vote for me? :)

Finally, I wanted to leave you with another quote, in English this time. I had a huge test on Lord of the Flies today, but the quote is from a poem we discussed in English Literature on Tuesday.
I really like it, and would recommend reading the whole poem!

The last year of high school is tough.. but I'm actually looking forward to the upcoming exam period. That means I'll have lots of time to study.. and I won't have to listen to my teachers blabber nonsense all day and have to study at home instead because I'm don't learn anything from listening to them. Plus no more mini tests :D Don't get me wrong.. I hate exams. But I can't wait till they're OVER! I think the exam period starts soon after the Easter break is over. Yikes!

What have you been up to this week?
What quotes or poems inspire you?
Do you have exams coming up?

Whether you're an old or new friend, don't be shy! Please leave a comment below :)

Have a great Friday and Easter break!! xoxo

How to Accessorize a Smile {Sunshine Outfit}

I've been feeling a bit down lately because I've been sick and I have a looot of work to do. I'm also stressed about applying for uni, applying for jobs, getting good grades, etc. But I wanted to share today's outfit with you :)

I got this new lemon and orange scarf (from H&M) on Monday from my Mum.. and I love it to bits! It's so fresh and adds a burst of colour to any outfit. I'm obsessed with the colour yellow at the moment.. so it's perfect!!!

Today's outfit was a kind of pick me up. I wore the smiley scarf and my new necklace with the quote "Not all who wander are lost" by HomeStudio.

I also wore my Yellow A Ray of Sunshine Ring by moi. I sold one of these beauties on Sunday in my Epla store :D I was thrilled!! I hope the customer likes it :)

I also wore these lemon earrings which I got from a friend last year.

I also "wore" a French manicure which I did myself :) I love painting my nails :)

A scarf can really brighten up any outfit! Especially on those gloomy days. Don't you think?

The scarf was my inspiration for the whole outfit. It's weird how one item can inspire the rest. I really loved my outfit.. and it made me smile. I think it's important to wear something that makes you happy.

What did you wear today? :)

Not All Who Wander Are Lost {Product Feature}

I recently ordered a Scrabble Necklace Charm (and ball chain) from HomeStudio on Etsy.

I love the quote on the necklace, as it rings true for me and my life.

The necklace arrived yesterday, and I've been wearing it and treasuring it ever since I opened the package.

HomeStudio sells lots of different pendants, all with a unique picture or quote on the back of a scrabble tile. I love how the pendants are scrabble tiles, as I'm a fan of words (geeky, I know), Scrabble and writing.
I even got my letter "K" on the back, which made me really happy!!

I loved the necklace as soon as I saw it, but I fell even more in love with it the minute it was strung around my neck. I'm also really glad I purchased the chain. It suits the pendant perfectly (like a charm ;) ), and it's the perfect length.

HomeStudio's items are affordable, eco-friendly (recycled scrabble tiles), personal, unique - basically, the perfect gift! The pendants are also the perfect size: discrete, yet noticeable.

Go check them out! Also, be sure to follow them on Twitter or via Facebook, so that you don't miss out on the latest news and a discount!
Come back here and tell me which pendant you would buy, or if you've purchased any item of theirs before! :D

Ps. As soon as I posted pictures of the necklace on instagram, they got loads of likes!! Follow me there as well: thegentleflower

Pps. If you'd like a product feature, I'd love to! Send me an e-mail and we'll organize it :)

Want Some Coffee To Go With That Doughnut Necklace?

Medium Doughnut Necklace

I've recently made more products in the Doughnut series.

I've made three necklaces (one sold) in three different sizes. The medium and large ones are up for sale in the store.

The oh-so-cute doughnuts are made using polymer clay, and have been molded, shaped and baked using my gentle, little hands ;)

Large Doughnut Necklace

The doughnuts are strung on a pretty silver-coloured chain, which is 1 meter long.

Why not go all out and wear a whole doughnut outfit!? Matching earrings and rings are available ;)

How to Accessorize Using a Scarf

I recently got my first infinity scarf (from Vila).. and I can't get enough of it!!

I love:
  • how it keeps me warm,
  • its beautiful colour
  • how it looks great with and compliments everything I wear - especially with my mustard yellow tank! :)

I love how an outfit looks a lot better when paired with a scarf.

I think it looks super-cool when the colours contrast, but match at the same time.

Scarves can be used as accessories during winter AND summer!

I also wore the new Bright Blue Braided Double Wrap Bracelet I made.. which is up for sale here!

I'm in love with the (mustard) yellow and blue colour combo!

What colour combos do you like?
What do you think of the new bracelet.. and my new scarf? :D
How do you accessorize using a scarf?
